FAQs
1. How much does a custom book cover cost?
Custom book covers start at $250 for ebook only and $400 for full print (inc ebook). For projects under $500, full payment is required upfront. For projects over $500, I ask for a 50% deposit to start and the rest upon delivery. Prices include eBook and print-ready covers, unlimited revisions, and final high-resolution files suitable for Kindle, KDP, IngramSpark, and other self-publishing platforms.
2. How long does it take to design a book cover?
Most covers take about 2–4 weeks from start to finish, depending on whether you need eBook covers, print book covers, or both, and the number of revisions. I provide a clear timeline before starting so you know exactly when your cover will be ready.
3. What’s the difference between an eBook cover and a print cover?
eBook covers are single images, optimized for platforms like Kindle, Apple Books, and Kobo.
Print covers include the front, back, and spine, formatted to your book’s page count and printer requirements (KDP, IngramSpark, etc.).
I can create both versions so your book is fully ready for self-publishing.
4. Do I need spine text for KDP?
Spine text is only required if your book has at least 79 pages. For eligible books, I’ll design the spine so it meets KDP’s formatting rules and looks professional.
5. Can I use images I find online for my book cover?
Only if they are licensed for commercial use. I mostly work with custom illustration, but if a stock image is included, then it has to be licensed properly (at an extra cost to the design service). That goes for specific fonts you might like too, which would require a commercial license fee.
6. Will my cover design work for KDP and other self-publishing platforms?
Yes. Print covers are formatted to KDP specifications by default, but I can also adjust for IngramSpark or other printers. eBook covers are delivered as high-resolution JPEGs that work across all major platforms.
7. Can you redesign my existing book cover?
Absolutely. If you’re re-releasing your book or want a more professional, eye-catching design, I can refresh or completely redesign your cover to attract more readers and fit your genre.
8. What if I don’t like the first draft?
No worries — revisions are part of the process. I include unlimited rounds of revisions with every project so I can tweak your cover until it’s perfect. No number on the rounds of revisions, as I never want to restrict the creative process. Some projects require more time than others, if there’s more visual searching needed.
9. Do you also create marketing graphics for my book?
Yes. I design book mockups (like the ones you see in my portfolio), social media graphics, and promotional banners that match your cover, helping your book look professional across all marketing channels. My services do not include book trailers / animations.
10. What genres do you design covers for?
I specialize in modern horror, thrillers, and literary fiction, but I’ve also designed covers for fantasy, romance, and sci-fi. My goal is to make your book stand out online and in print while matching the tone of your story.
11. How do I get started with a custom book cover?
Simply send me a message. I’ll review your project and send a proposal with pricing, timeline, and next steps.
12. Do you use AI to generate your designs?
No.
