I'm Roderick Brydon, a book cover designer and illustrator with over 20 years' experience across fine art and graphic design.

I specialise in creating distinctive, concept-led covers built around custom illustration. Rather than relying on templates or familiar genre formulas, I approach each commission individually; developing the artwork, typography and composition together to create a cover that feels specific to the story.

My work spans literary fiction, horror, thrillers, science fiction, fantasy and other genres, with styles ranging from bold graphic and minimalist illustration to detailed, painterly and atmospheric artwork.

I work directly with independent authors and publishers throughout the design process, from the initial brief and concept development through to the finished cover and production-ready files.

All artwork is created specifically for the project, with each cover developed as an original piece of design and illustration. I do not use AI-generated artwork.
